That Addiction

I guess that’s why it’s called an addiction

Because it never really goes away

That urge to just feel that “high”

When everything around you feels like it’s falling apart

You just need to feel at ease

The first thing you can think of is that addiction

The addiction that soothes you

Yet brings you to your self-destruction

That addiction that makes your worries go awa

But comes back when it wears off

That addiction that gives you “sanity”

Yet makes you insane

That addiction that without it you can live

But with it you are living

That addiction that breaks

you down and tears you apart

you try to fight it but to it you go back

that addiction that if you take one day at a time you can conquer

that addiction
